Smarter Solar Energy with AI Agents
The renewable energy sector, particularly solar, is growing rapidly, driven by strong adoption across stakeholders from governments to housing societies. While solar offers flexibility and scalability, the sector is still maturing. Despite an abundance of data from panels and sensors, much of it remains underutilized. On-ground teams continue to rely on reactive maintenance, leading to avoidable downtime, inefficiencies and higher operational costs.
Altius Surya Tech operates at the intersection of renewable energy, infrastructure and AI, building intelligent systems that help solar installations operate more reliably, efficiently and predictably. Their work is focused on real-world, constrained environments such as rural sites, housing communities and industrial facilities.

Altius Surya Tech accurately identified the need for a layer between raw telemetry and real-world operational decisions. To address this, Altius built an AI Operations Agent for Solar PV and Pumping Systems. The Agent ingests thermal and RGB imagery alongside electrical and operational telemetry, detects anomalies such as hotspots and overheating, and generates clear, human-readable recommendations explaining both the issue and the corrective action.
Beyond fault detection, the Agent also optimizes PV panel cleaning, an especially critical feature in water-scarce regions, by recommending cleaning schedules that balance performance and resource efficiency. The Agent is currently being used by solar operators, facility managers, and infrastructure committees for housing communities. And the results are already clear - reduced downtime, lower risk of asset damage and improved energy output.
Participation in the AI Agents Masterclass in association with Google for Startups helped Altius re-architect the system into modular layers - observation, reasoning, and recommendation, improving explainability, resilience to missing data and deployment flexibility across edge and cloud environments.
With the Agent in place, Altius is already seeing growing interest in predictive maintenance from customers. The Agent has become central to Altius’s product roadmap, accelerating its transition toward a fully AI-led operations platform.
Next, the team plans to integrate the Agent with advanced analytics dashboards for solar pumps, expand predictive maintenance capabilities, enable multi-site fleet analytics and launch pilots with select customers and partners.
We are proud to support startups like Altius that treat AI Agents as team members with ownership, accountability and clear business outcomes. These are the companies building lean, scalable systems and gaining a lasting edge in the transition to intelligent infrastructure.
